In case you haven’t noticed….we have a ton of leftover paper party straws collecting in a drawer. Because we don’t believe in waste, and love doing fun crafts on the cheap whenever possible, we are bringing you this ultra-easy build a necklace DIY. This is a fun project to do with your kids on the weekend, and would be extra cool to do as an activity for a kid’s birthday party cause you will kill so many birds with one stone: 1) Get rid of your junk drawer of straws, CHECK. 2) Have a super easy and fun party activity, CHECK. 3) This really doubles as a nice favor take-away so you don’t have to make separate favor bags, CHECK. Now let’s get crafting...
SKILL LEVEL: Super Easy
TIME: 15 minutes, but no rush…it’s funner to chit chat while you build
- A nice mix of paper straws
- A nice mix of beads
STEP 1: Cut all the straws into 1-2 inch pieces. No worries if they are not all the same size.
STEP 2: Cut strings for the length you want the necklaces to be, plus a little extra for tying
STEP 3: Lay out all the different cut straws, beads, and pass out strings to those that want to partake.
STEP 4: Make your creations mixing whatever combo of beads and straws that make your heart happy, and tie the two ends together when you have reached perfection.
STEP 5: Rock your new look. You are wearing that necklace!
Blam! So easy. Great for a variety of ages. And super inexpensive.
